Vancouver, I love.
THERE ARE many great and amazing places I have been in the world the past few years of my life. But there is something special about the city of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Maybe it’s the food, maybe it’s the vast array of cultures. Maybe it’s the way the city looks like during a sunny day, or maybe it’s way it lights up at night. Whatever it is, the city holds a charm that always seems to win me over everytime I visit. And when I’m NOT visiting, I’m dreaming about visiting.
This recent trip I took to Vancouver with my trustee friend and bandmate, Leejay Abucayan, was nothing more than fantastic and fun.
Everything from an eventful 1st day of arrival with Pen & Paper Apparel going to Hapa Izakaya in Yaletown then off to the one on Robson:

Had a more relaxed time on the 2nd day where Leej and I hopped on the Skytrain and just explored the city and all it has to offer.
Got a haircut at JD’s Barbershop in Gastown.

We then met up with one of the most talented artists/musicians to come out of Vancity, Ebrahim Lakhani. We’ve been good friends musically online since I was like 17 years old! I’ve always looked up to this guy and his talents and it was a pleasure to finally meet him in person.
We then met up with one of the most coolest and dopest couples I know! Allan & Celine who I have been friends with for years (and also the people that brought me down to Vancouver for the first time back in ‘07. I’ve been back more than 5-6 times ever since!)
AXIS 2011 was the reason why Leej and I went to Vancity to begin with! :) Our good friends from Pen & Paper Apparel invited us to their show and ofcourse, we said YES! Other artists like Kristie Yung, Summerbreeze, Victor Kim, Lou Papa x Monica Ponce, Emmalyn Estrada, Raiel, and more, performed! Aside from technical difficulties during our set, we still had a great time and did our thing! :)

We then went to BLVD afterwards for the afterparty and got to hang out with til late where we ate Vietnamese food at a 24 hour spot off W. Broadway.

The time had to come when Leejay and I had to go back home.. So at the airport, we grabbed our favorite; Iced Capp’s from Tim Horton’s as a final drink in Vancouver. lol.
Oh man.. There is soo much more I could talk about but I would go on forever!
I love this city, I love the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve established the past few times I’ve been here. Vancouver, you’ll always have a special place in my heart. :) Cheers for now!
